Where seeds
become futures.

— Our 4 core themes

The values that
shape everything we do.

TTI improves education, strengthens communities, and creates opportunities so children can build better futures. Walk with us and invest in the future of girls through an endowment fund of Education.

Healing

Our work is rooted in healing wounds, generational trauma, and social fragmentation through education, mentorship, and community development. We create spaces for individuals to reconnect with their purpose and build resilient futures, recognizing that healing is collective, intergenerational, and transformative.

Legacy

Legacy is more than memory, it is about building something that lasts through endowment funds, scholarships, and local leadership development that carry Tererai Trent’s vision forward. By investing in legacy, you help create a sustainable foundation for education, empowerment, and long-term community growth.

— Our Approach

We don't drop programs
and leave, we grow with you.

Our work is shaped by the culture, identity, and lived realities of the people we serve. From language to leadership, everything we do honors the land, history, and traditions that shape community life.

By staying rooted, our impact becomes sustainable, respectful, and long-lasting.

Supporting schools with learning materials, better classrooms, and safe spaces for students.

Helping girls stay in school through scholarships and mentorship programs.

Building community projects like school gardens and income-generating activities that support families, improve nutrition and develop schools.

Training communities to develop skills that help them grow, work, and plan for a better future.

Working with local leaders to make sure solutions come from the community and last for a long time.

Sarah Makoni

TTI Scholar · Telecom Professional · Zimbabwe

"I am forever grateful to TTI and my sponsors. Being the first-born in a family of peasant farmers, my parents could not afford to send me to school. Thanks to the scholarship I received, I completed my education and graduated successfully. Today, I am employed by one of Zimbabwe's largest telecom companies and have been able to give back to my family — sending my brothers to school, drilling a borehole, solarising our rural home, buying groceries, and supporting my parents. None of this would have been possible without education and the timely support of my sponsors. My journey is proof that sponsorship transforms lives and creates lasting impact."

— Education That Transforms

Transformation begins
when a child steps into a safe classroom.

In Hurungwe, “education that transforms” is not a slogan, it is a lived reality we are building every day. Transformation begins when a child in a rural village finally steps into a safe classroom, sits at a proper desk, and learns in an environment that honors their dignity and potential.

It deepens when a student conducts a science experiment for the first time in a modern laboratory, discovering that innovation is not reserved for others, it is within their reach.

Through our work, we are redefining what is possible for rural learners. By constructing proper classrooms, upgrading school infrastructure, and introducing science subjects and laboratories in schools that never had them before, we are unlocking futures once limited by geography and poverty.

Mitchel Make

Entrepreneur & Mentor · Sewing Training Graduate

Shifting norms.
Passing new batons.

Mitchel Make is a shining example of how opportunity and determination can transform a life. After completing TTI’s sewing training program, Mitchel used her new skills to establish her own dress-making company, creating beautiful garments and building a sustainable income for herself and her family.

What began as a single skill has grown into a thriving business that supports her household and inspires other women in her community. Through hard work, creativity, and the confidence gained from the training, Mitchel has become both an entrepreneur and a role model, proving that when women are empowered, entire communities rise.

Her story reflects the heart of TTI’s mission: giving women the tools they need to shape their own futures.

We work at the community and societal levels to shift cultural norms, pass on new batons, and demonstrate what’s possible when rural wisdom meets formal education.

Florence Kanyungwa

Founder, NGO · Education Advocate

Florence Kanyungwa’s story is a powerful reminder of what happens when education meets purpose. After receiving support and mentorship through TTI’s programs, Florence developed a deep passion for ensuring that every child, especially those in rural and underserved communities, has the chance to learn and thrive.

Driven by this conviction, she founded her own non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting equal access to education. Her NGO advocates for vulnerable learners, mobilizes menstrual health resources for school support, and works closely with communities to remove barriers that keep children out of the classroom.

“I struggled with self-doubt for years. When I got the scholarship, I didn’t just receive school fees- I received dignity. I met other young women who reminded me that healing is a journey, not a race. Now I walk with my head high. I want every girl to feel that same freedom.”

— STEM ~ Infrastructure That Enables

Frame 40_edited_edited.png

Our Impact

Of the 14 schools we are partnering with, only three previously offered science subjects, but the construction of proper classrooms, safe learning blocks, and fully equipped science laboratories is changing that reality. Students who once had no access to practical science can now conduct experiments, prepare for O-Level examinations, and imagine new career paths.

This investment goes beyond infrastructure, restoring dignity and expanding opportunity for rural children. Each classroom and laboratory built lays the foundation for future innovators, problem-solvers, and leaders who will uplift their communities.

STEM education is a gateway to opportunity, especially in rural districts like Hurungwe where limited infrastructure has long restricted access to quality science learning. Many schools have lacked safe classrooms and proper laboratories, leading to poor academic outcomes and a growing gap between rural and urban students.

By introducing modern classrooms and well-equipped science labs, we are breaking this cycle and creating learning environments where children can better understand STEM concepts, expand their aspirations, and compete on equal footing with their peers nationwide.

Why STEM Matters in Rural Communities

Unlocks new career pathways: STEM subjects open the door to careers in medicine, engineering, agriculture, technology, and green innovation — fields that are increasingly shaping Zimbabwe’s future.

Science is not reserved
for others — it is within their reach.

Strengthens rural development: When young people understand science and technology, they become better equipped to solve community problems such as water access, climate challenges, farming innovation, and health issues.

Bridges the rural-urban divide: Quality learning facilities allow rural students to access the same standard of education enjoyed in urban areas, promoting equity and long-term social mobility.

Builds confidence and aspiration: Practical science learning inspires curiosity, creativity, and belief in one’s ability to excel beyond traditional expectations.

Our work goes beyond
classrooms — it nurtures healing.

At TTI, our work goes beyond building classrooms to nurturing healing and restoring dignity in communities long affected by poverty, unsafe learning environments, and limited opportunities. By listening first and working alongside parents, teachers, and local leaders, we rebuild trust and create shared ownership through projects like classrooms, irrigation systems, and science labs.

This approach opens new possibilities for children and empowers families to actively shape their future, strengthening confidence, hope, and community bonds.

Frame 40_edited_edited.png

We strengthen resilience by enabling schools to use proceeds from irrigation projects to feed learners, build classrooms, and renovate facilities, proving communities can thrive through their own efforts. Most importantly, we restore belief in education, in community, and in every child’s potential.

Systems that
Regenerate.

We seed cycles that sustain themselves—where school gardens fund libraries, graduates return to teach, and communities lead from within with lasting pride and ownership.
