Kudzai Sorarezawu: From Lost Hope to a New Beginning

Kudzai Sorarezawu’s journey is one of courage, healing, and renewed purpose. After losing the opportunity to pursue her education due to financial hardship, she felt her dreams slipping away. With hope fading, she chose marriage as the only path she could see — but instead of relief, she found herself trapped in even deeper poverty. When the marriage ended, Kudzai returned to her mother’s home, pregnant and feeling defeated.

It was in this moment of vulnerability that Tererai Trent International met Kudzai. Guided by the spirit of Ubuntu and our commitment to restoring dignity, TTI walked with her through healing and helped her reclaim the future she thought was lost.

With support, Kudzai returned to school, rebuilt her confidence, and pursued her passion. Today, she is a journalist and holds a degree in TV, Film, and Media — a remarkable achievement born from resilience and opportunity. She is now able to provide for her daughter and has become a powerful example of what is possible when a girl is given the chance to rise again.
